ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Loads and packages dry ice daily in accordance with quality standards, knowing and complying with all safety and quality policies and procedures.
  2. Performs clean-up functions including sweeping, washing, painting, trash removal, and pick-up.

EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • One (1) year experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, commissions, proportions, and percent.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Able to read and write.
  • Able to understand and follow the directions of supervisors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be in good physical condition. Routine lifting and manipulation of dry ice blocks ranging from 5 to 60 pounds.
  • Work may require standing, stooping, crouching, or bending.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Unconditioned workspace (warm in summer, cool in winter). Use of PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes is required. Gloves must be worn when handling dry ice due to its extreme cold.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to work safely in a noisy environment with elevated levels of CO2 vapor.
  • Shift work required.
