Job summary

Sasol (USA) Corporation in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Plant Operator to operate and monitor plant equipment, ensuring safe and efficient production.

Under supervision, you will log data, collect samples, perform routine material handling, and execute special runs while maintaining product quality. The role requires a High School diploma and 6 months+ experience in related settings.

Qualifications

• High School / School Diploma or similar.
• 6 months+ experience in a warehouse / manufacturing / mining / construction or landscaping role.
• Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, wear respirator, and lift up to 52 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operates plant equipment including filters, kilns, ball mills, vibro mills, jet mills, screens, compressors, generators, waste water treatment system, mobile equipment, boilers, and other processing procedures and equipment.
• Performs assigned material handling, record keeping, and measurement tasks.
• Accurately logs data, collects samples and corrects minor operational irregularities.
• Executes instructions for special runs requiring alternate processing conditions.
• Operates the plant equipment in a manner to ensure product and process quality.

Purpose of Job

Operates plant equipment and performs routine plant operations as assigned by supervisor.

Key Accountabilities

• Under direction of Shift Supervisor or Plant Operator I and II, operates plant equipment including filters, kilns, ball mills, vibro mills, jet mills, screens, compressors, generators, waste water treatment system, mobile equipment, boilers, as well as other required processing procedures and equipment
• Performs assigned material handling, record keeping, and measurement tasks
• Accurately logs data, collects samples and corrects minor operational irregularities
• Executes instructions for special runs requiring alternate processing conditions
• Operate the plant equipment in a manner to ensure product and process quality

Formal Education

High School / School Diploma or similar

Working Experience

6 months + experience in a warehouse / manufacturing / mining / construction or landscaping role

Required Personal/Professional Skills

• Proficiency in native-level English
• Must be able to ascend and descend stairs
• Must be able to wear respirator
• Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 52 lbs
