Job summary

Dcp Midstream is seeking a Full-time Plant Operator to oversee the ethanol plant operations, including the corn flaking system and co-products equipment. The role requires a 3-day on/3-day off schedule from midnight to noon and hands-on operation of production processes with diligent documentation and safety practices.

Responsibilities include startup/shutdown of process segments, stream adjustment for efficiency, sampling and reporting, and participation in plant turn-arounds.

  • Assist with maintenance troubleshooting and inventory control.
  • Operate flaking systems and related equipment as required.
  • Maintain housekeeping and calibration of lab and control areas.
  • Support plant turn-arounds and routine operations.

Full job description

Full plant operator is responsible for understanding operations of the fuel ethanol plant, corn flaking system and co-products equipment.

Primary responsibilities
  • Ability to work a 3 day on and 3 day off shift from midnight to noon.
  • Understand how to effectively operate the process operation of a production ethanol plant by starting up and shutting down each segment of the process.
  • Excellent understanding of what process stream effects other process streams, and be able to perform the necessary adjustment to that of the effected stream.
  • Perform activities relating to processing functions such as hammer mill management, slurry tank operations, yeast, fermentation, distillation, evaporation, and boiler operations.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust equipment settings or raw materials inputs as directed to ensure the optimal efficiency in the production process.
  • Perform product sampling, document results, and report findings to Production/Lab Personnel.
  • Accurately document and record key production data and understand the importance of all documentation.
  • Understand how to effectively operate the process operation of the flaking systems by starting up and shutting down each segment of the process.
  • Excellent understanding of the flaking system segments and is able to perform the necessary adjustment within each segment.
  • Assists with diagnosing and trouble‑shooting maintenance related issues.
  • Monitors use and inventories of production supplies. Initiate re‑ordering when necessary.
  • Helps maintain and calibrates laboratory equipment.
  • Helps maintain and calibrates process equipment.
  • Participates in plant turn‑arounds.
  • Operate equipment (Skid Steer, Pallet Jack).
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks (Lab, Control Room, Flake Room, and Enzyme Room).
