Job Summary:

The Plant Operator is responsible for examining, testing, filling, and weighing gas cylinders in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulations. Ensuring safety standards during loading and unloading of cylinder gases is also essential.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate and maintain equipment for pumping or re packaging gases into cylinders.
  • Perform pre-fill and post-fill inspections and tests.
  • Maintain cylinders and remove those requiring repair from service.
  • Inspect and maintain pumping apparatus and pressure monitoring devices.
  • Fill cylinders to proper pressure or weight.
  • Maintain accurate filling records and follow all procedures to comply with regulations.
  • Conduct periodic safety checks.
  • Operate warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Keep the plant neat and orderly.
  • Perform mathematical calculations as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with loading/unloading trucks.
  • Help with inventory, housekeeping, and customer service.
  • If qualified, perform backup driving duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-1 year of operations or production experience.
  • Forklift certification or license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift 25-60 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, and other physical activities.
  • Ability to read MSDS and work independently.
  • Work outdoors in temperatures from 30 to 110 degrees.
