Job description

Our client is building next-generation recycling technology that turns end-of-life magnets into a domestic source of critical materials, cutting the country's reliance on overseas supply. Backed by serious investment, they're standing up a first-of-its-kind commercial plant from the ground up.

As a Plant Operator, you'll help ensure the safe, efficient operation of the processing circuits and equipment that recover critical materials from recycled feedstock. That means taking process readings, adjusting equipment, recording data, monitoring and controlling flows, handling chemicals and reagents, and staying on top of routine inspections and housekeeping. This is a full-time, on-site role with rotating shifts.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct pre-shift work area exams and equipment inspections to catch substandard or unsafe conditions, correct them where you can, and document anything not resolved by end of shift.
  • Operate assigned circuits and equipment safely, efficiently, and reliably, keeping operating parameters within designated limits.
  • Monitor and control product flows, making calculations and adjustments as needed to keep circuits within specification.
  • Ensure sampling happens at the right intervals, is processed accurately, and gets documented per procedure, including orderly operator log sheets.
  • Start and stop equipment, and understand process flows and equipment fundamentals well enough to properly execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and troubleshooting actions.
  • Safely handle a variety of chemicals and reagents using appropriate PPE.
  • Perform or assist with minor mechanical tasks and preventive maintenance within the scope of your training and skills.
  • Perform general labor duties and assist other operators as needed.
  • Maintain housekeeping and circuit cleanliness to keep operations safe, and report and address safety and environmental concerns.
What You Bring
Required
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a processing facility.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work with minimum supervision, with a proven safety and attendance record.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold weather conditions, and to work a rotating schedule of nights and days, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred
  • Direct experience in a process or mining environment.
  • Experience handling chemicals and reagents.
  • Knowledge of processing equipment, including operating parameters and limits.
Additional Requirements
  • Able to regularly lift moderately heavy objects (50 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs), climb ladders and stairs, and stand for extended periods.
  • Able to pass required training, testing, and a medical exam if requested.
  • Comfortable working safely in and around strong permanent magnets and magnetic fields (individuals with pacemakers, implanted medical devices, or related conditions should consult occupational health first).
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
Why Join
  • Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience, with overtime eligibility.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • The chance to help build a first-of-its-kind facility in a strategically vital U.S. industry.
  • A fast-moving, collaborative, high-performing, safety-first team culture.
