Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a Plant Operator to oversee the daily operations of the central energy plant, and core plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. You will apply knowledge of boilers, chillers and related equipment to keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include planning and directing day-to-day operations, developing maintenance schedules, improving operations, and adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Associates/Vocational degree or equivalent work experience in lieu.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Plant Operator is responsible for daily operations of the facility’s central energy plant, and main plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Utilizing a working knowledge of boilers, chillers and other plant equipment, the Plant Operator ensures the plant consistently runs efficiently, safely, and smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• The Plant Operator implements strategies to drive continuous improvement and maintain model operation by planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to meet or exceed regulatory requirements, industry standards, manufacturer’s recommendations, company policies and procedures and by creating work schedules, developing maintenance schedules, and mentoring general maintenance technicians.

• The Plant Operator will adhere to processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity, as well as, increase equipment efficiency, capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards to complete equipment repairs and renovations, and maintain inventory of plant assets, maintenance tools, and supplies.
