Job summary

Sasol in Tucson, AZ is hiring a Plant Operator to operate plant equipment and perform routine operations under supervision.

You will handle aluminum oxide powder, run filters, kilns, mills, and support quality lab sampling while maintaining safety and adherence to SOPs. This role requires a High School diploma and at least 6 months in related settings; strong English and the ability to climb stairs are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a warehouse/manufacturing/mining/construction or landscaping role.
• Proficiency in native-level English.
• Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment including filters, kilns, ball mills, vibro mills, jet mills, screens, compressors, generators, wastewater treatment systems, boilers and related procedures.
• Safely operate a forklift within warehouses and production areas.
• Handle Aluminum Oxide Powder.
• Accurately complete shift logs and collect samples for quality lab.
• Follow company policies and site Standard Operating Procedures.
• Execute instructions for special runs requiring alternate processing conditions.
• Operate equipment to ensure product and process quality.
• Work safely in environments that may be loud, hot and/or dusty.
