The City of Richmond, Department of Public Utilities, is seeking a qualified Plant Operations Supervisor, Senior to provide direct oversight of routine and preventive maintenance activities, including coordination with internal maintenance staff and external contractors to ensure optimal functioning of treatment systems and mechanical equipment. The incumbent will supervise staff including conducting performance evaluations, coordinating training, and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures. This includes human resources (timesheets, performance reviews, scheduling etc.) and operational aspects. This position will be overseeing plant operation and keep plant management team appraised of any issues on a daily basis. Additionally, the position will work with maintenance supervisor and staff to make sure appropriate preventive maintenance and corrective actions are taken care of.

The essential duties of this classification may require the ability to regularly talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions; frequently climb, balance, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift; and occasionally stoop, crawl, finger, grasp, and feel. The working conditions may include environmental hazards. In terms of the physical strength to perform the essential duties, this classification is considered to be sedentary, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
