Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Plant Manager Assistant on the West Coast to support our protein manufacturing operations. You will help manage safety, quality, cost, productivity, inventory, and distribution, while leading and developing a team of supervisors and hourly staff.

You will collaborate with the Plant Manager to ensure a cost-effective operation and address staffing, audits, and supplier interactions. Ideal candidates have 2-4 years in plant operations or food manufacturing, with a preference for

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in plant operations or food manufacturing.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment; chilled process experience preferred.
• Strong mentoring and coaching for a diverse team.
• Superior management skills with ability to influence direct and indirect reports.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual: Spanish and English strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations focusing on safety, quality, cost, productivity, inventory and distribution.
• Manage direct reports including production supervisors, site logistics and all hourly staff.
• Provide leadership and training for direct reports on production controls.
• Collaborate with Plant Manager to run a cost-effective operation.
• Support staffing, employee relations, supplier interactions, inspections and audits.
• Ensure policies and work instructions are followed for food safety and quality.
• Record and analyze downtime to minimize lost production with other departments.
• Manage labor resources within budgets and targets for output.
• Maintain cost-effective inventory levels and communicate with sales/marketing.
• Enforce HACCP and GMP standards and train employees accordingly.
• Order supplies and provide supplier feedback to Plant Manager and Procurement.
