Job summary

KP Recruiting Group is seeking an experienced Refinery Superintendent to lead a major food manufacturing/refining facility in the San Francisco area. You will oversee safety, food quality, production, operational efficiency, financial performance, and team development.

You’ll set priorities, drive improvements, manage budgets, and develop site leaders, with relocation assistance available. Day shift with occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing/operations experience.
  • Plant, refinery, food processing, or process manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production operations, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing operating and capital budgets.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and drive operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of refinery production and operating processes
  • Lead site initiatives focused on employee safety, food safety, environmental compliance, and quality
  • Ensure compliance with internal, external, and regulatory requirements
  • Direct production and quality programs to consistently meet customer and product specifications
  • Establish operational priorities and drive execution across the facility
  • Improve plant efficiency through standardization, process optimization, manufacturing systems, reliability, maintenance, and operator best practices
  • Manage plant capital and operating budgets
  • Monitor production performance, operating expenses, and key performance targets
  • Hold direct reports accountable for safety, quality, production, and financial results
  • Lead, coach, and develop plant personnel
  • Support hiring, performance management, talent development, and disciplinary processes
  • Partner with corporate EHS, food safety, quality, and regulatory teams

Are you an experienced plant operations leader with a background in food manufacturing, refining, production, or other process-driven environments?
