Job summary

Altium Packaging in Allentown, PA is seeking a Plant Manager to direct daily operations of production and maintenance, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will lead maintenance and production teams, oversee preventive maintenance, drive continuous improvement, coordinate with customers and management, and support new product launches while maintaining quality and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering or maintenance management in manufacturing.
• 5–7 years in production management.
• Experience with an integrated management system (ERP).
• Bilingual in French and English preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Monitoring both departments ensuring they are operating for efficiently and safely, while ensuring all applicable regulatory requirements are met.WORK ACTIVITIES:Performance ManagementPreventive Maintenance scheduling/TrackingInfluence OthersTrack Plant PerformanceInterpret InformationCommunicate with Customers, Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Other PersonnelSchedulingOrganizing, Planning and Prioritizing WorkESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Champion a safety culture, ensure a safe work environment and cultivate safe behavior.Direct and coordinate activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as blow mold machine operators, maintenance mechanics, quality inspectors and warehouse workers.Establish process to ensure technicians respond quickly to mechanical needs.Organize and plan the routine preventive maintenance of blow mold and packaging machines and conveyor systems.Execute production schedules to meet company and customer requirements.Provide guidance and direction to shift leaders to ensure timely and efficient plant operations.Maintain procedures for accurate inventory of finished goods and raw materials.Interview employment candidates and authorize personnel hires. Authorize employment actions of plant personnel.Lead problem-solving and process improvement with the plant and customer to achieve resolution and elimination of product issues.Provide for successful new product launches by ensuring clear specification development, process capability definition, and attainment of customer satisfaction on initial shipments.Audit facility for compliance with GMP standards and maintain plant in compliance with corporate quality requirements.Provide guidelines to ensure timely repair and efficient predictive and preventive maintenance of equipment and machinery.Routinely monitor shift and individual machine performance reports and processes to ensure effective operations.Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of immediate staff and hourly personnel; maintain training and development documentation.Drive execution of assigned projects to ensure accurate and timely completion.Other duties as assigned by plant management.Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.Skills and requirements• Experience in Engineering or Maintenance management• Five to seven years of experience in production management in a manufacturing environment• Experience of working with an integrated management system (ERP);• Bilingual (preferred, not required)• Proficient in using the Office suite, good IT skills• Verbal and written communication skills in French and English to intermediary level.• Inspirational leadership skills• Change management experience• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, health and safety and quality• Capacity to manage several files simultaneously• Able to work independently and attention to detailAltium Packaging, Our Culture Differentiates Us!We incorporate our Guiding Principles into all aspects and at all levels of the organization and use them as a framework for decision-making.
