Job summary

Eco Material Technologies, a CRH Company, seeks an Operations Manager to lead the production department, ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing and on-time shipping of budgeted volumes. You will align with the company vision, collaborate with maintenance, QC, and Marketing to meet demand, and serve as plant manager’s backup in their absence.

The role requires strong leadership, process optimization, and cost control, with a hands-on approach to safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Metrics usage and planning to deliver results.
• Knowledge of lean tools: root cause analysis, preventive maintenance, visual management, and 5S.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Maximo, ADP, Outlook.
• Travel requirements: 10%.
• Excellent organizational and people-management abilities; experience building high-performing teams.
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental requirements preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 3–5 years' experience in a functional role.

Responsibilities

• Manage all areas of production, including SOPs, staff training, and operations systems.
• Direct shift production teams focusing on safety, quality, schedule adherence, labor efficiency, waste, maintenance, and cost.
• Optimize processes to improve plant efficiency; develop KPIs and metrics linked to plant performance.
• Ensure product quality through collaboration with QC.
• Lead the use of production equipment and personnel effectively.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and delegation as needed.
• Assist plant manager with future plant needs and improvement plans.
• Develop a technically advanced and safety-conscious team.
• Set annual department and personal objectives; conduct performance reviews.
• Maintain cross-department relationships for smooth operation.
• Plan, budget, forecast, and report department performance and costs; safeguard assets and environmental compliance.
• Meet or exceed annual production volumes and budgeted costs.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
• Assist in hiring new production staff and orienting new hires.
• Utilize Six Sigma/5S/visual metrics for continuous improvement.
• Create reporting formats to communicate results to plant staff.
• Back up Plant Manager in their absence.
• Record and report performance and cost daily to annually.
• Track key metrics and drive data-driven improvements.
• Maintain flexibility to support 24/7 operations.
• Develop and maintain safety and environmental programs.
