Job summary

Huhtamaki in Hammond, Indiana seeks a Plant Manager to direct and coordinate the activities of the Management staff across Safety, Production, Maintenance, CI, Administration (Finance and HR) to achieve optimum facility efficiency. The role provides leadership to manufacturing operations and drives continuous improvement in a safe, efficient environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with statistical tools/methodologies, quality methods and basic financial principles.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Focus on understanding and exceeding customer expectations.
• Computer literate: MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
• Self-starter, resourceful, organized and able to manage change.
• 8–10 years manufacturing experience with 5–7 years in a leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the facility output in a safe and cost-effective manner.
• Improve operating efficiency; use data to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements.
• Provide technical and administrative support to the facility.
• Oversee capital projects and provide leadership to management and hourly staff.
• Coordinate with supply chain to service customer needs.
• Lead ongoing plant operations optimization and staff issue resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
