Job summary

Plymouth Tube Company - Trent in Maryland seeks an experienced Plant Operations Leader to direct and manage all plant operations including production, maintenance, engineering, quality and safety, with a strong focus on lean practices and continuous improvement.

You will champion PBS concepts, develop budgets, lead cross-functional teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a culture of safety, accountability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, Operations Management or Business; with related years of experience.
• RCRA certification to oversee hazardous waste activities.
• 8-10 years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong lean manufacturing background.
• Travel required.

Responsibilities

• Improve operational performance through continuous improvement of production-related processes.
• Oversee policies, procedures, and processes designed to minimize costs and maximize production.
• Oversee the mill’s manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process improvement or efficiency optimization.
• Develop a manufacturing plan and production schedule that increases profit while reducing overhead.
• Coordinate purchasing, production, quality and distribution to achieve budgeted year-over-year improvements.
• Implement strategy deployment and new technologies to sustain competitive advantage.
• Champion health, environment, and safety initiatives and ensure compliance.
• Provide expectations, accountability, and direction to direct reports.
• Prepare and maintain plant budgets and monitor costs.
• Promote Plymouth Business System (PBS) to drive waste elimination and organizational focus.
