Job summary

U.S. Silica is seeking an Operations Supervisor to guide the hourly workforce and manage plant operations on the AM shift.

You will plan and schedule production and mining activities to meet goals while controlling costs through effective planning and management. Responsibilities include directing work to crews, ensuring safety and quality, planning downtime, and communicating issues to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in mining.
• Experience supervising in a manufacturing environment and in a union setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production and mining activities to meet production goals.
• Plan and direct production lines to meet safety and quality specs.
• Direct and schedule downtime with production departments.
• Communicate production issues to Operations Manager and identify improvements.
• Supervise plant operators and participate in interviews and disciplinary actions.
• Assist the Operations Manager with safety plan development and execution.
• Plan, schedule, and report to meet job goals.
