Job summary

Nevada Regional Medical Center is seeking a proven Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance to oversee facility maintenance, safety, security, construction, Bio Medical, regulatory compliance, and daily plant operations.

The role requires leadership experience in hospital settings, preventative maintenance knowledge, Life Safety and regulatory standards, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of experience in hospital or healthcare facility setting preferred.
  • Leadership experience in plant operations, facilities, or related areas preferred.
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, safety requirements, construction, and regulatory standards preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction is preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, employees, and vendors.
  • Available for urgent facility needs outside normal business hours.
  • Travel between hospital-owned facilities and clinics as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, utilities, HVAC, boilers, electrical systems, plumbing, medical gases, and other facility systems.
  • Develop and manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate Maintenance staff.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, repairs, renovations, and construction projects.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the hospital, clinics, and other facilities.
  • Ensure required testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance are completed on schedule.
  • Support compliance with CMS, Life Safety, fire, safety, building-code, and accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and facility safety activities.
  • Develop and monitor departmental operating and capital budgets.
  • Maintain inventories of equipment, parts, materials, and supplies.
  • Prepare reports and provide updates to Administration.
  • Respond to urgent facility needs and after-hours emergencies.
  • Assist other departments with capital equipment planning and installation.
  • Promote a professional, safe, efficient, and service-focused work environment.
  • Participate in the development of the facilities master plan.

Nevada Regional Medical Center is seeking a proven and experienced Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance to oversee facility maintenance, safety, security, construction, Bio Medical, regulatory compliance, and daily plant operations across the hospital and associated facilities.

Summary of Duties:

The Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and safety of hospital buildings, equipment, utilities, and building systems. This position supervises Maintenance staff and works closely with Administration, department leaders, contractors, architects, engineers, and regulatory officials.

The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital or healthcare facilities, strong leadership skills, and knowledge of preventative maintenance, Life Safety, emergency systems, construction projects, and regulatory compliance.
