Plant/Manufacturing - Third Shift Material Handler

Job Description

STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. Joint Venture company, is seeking a Third Shift Material Handler in Charlotte, NC. The Material Handler reports to the Shift Supervisor. The primary responsibility is to inspect all production cases for quality and ship ability, ensuring proper labeling, sealing, and stacking according to product configuration specifications. Proper staging for warehouse movement is also required. This position is located at 1201 Westinghouse Blvd., Charlotte, NC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate PIT equipment following OSHA standards, including inspections and maintenance.
• Perform final quality inspections of products before packaging.
• Operate stretch wrap machines within specifications.
• Maintain the label printer, ensuring correct labels and roll availability.
• Keep staging areas organized, clean, and compliant throughout shifts.
• Relieve other Material Handlers during breaks.
• Perform housekeeping and sanitation duties as required.
• Complete additional tasks as directed by management.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report hazards.
• Follow safety policies, PPE requirements, and set safety examples.
• Report quality or safety issues promptly.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Adherence to safety, GMP, and PPE guidelines.
• Team-oriented and receptive to direction.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and accept responsibility.
• Compliance with company policies.
• Flexibility to work overtime.
• Proficiency in forklift operation.
• Ability to distinguish product quality issues and troubleshoot.
• Basic calculator skills, capable of manual addition up to 100.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Constant standing, walking, talking, hearing; occasional sitting.
• Visual acuity for close, color, distance, and peripheral vision.
• Ability to stand 90% of the shift and lift up to 45 pounds.
