Plant Manager – Toledo OH

About The Position

A & M Cheese is a family owned and operated food processing facility in Northwest Ohio serving restaurants in over 20 states. The Plant Operations Manager is a key leader and responsible for guaranteeing the smooth and efficient operation of the production floor, from receiving raw materials to final packaging and shipping of finished goods. We are looking for a leader who is proactive and is experienced at managing a diverse team, while maintaining the highest quality possible while making sure safety standards are enforced and continuous improvement in our processes are complete.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Oversee daily production on (3) shifts to ensure all operations are running efficiently, meeting production targets, and adhering to quality standards.
  • Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure all products meet company’s quality specifications and industry standards.
  • Provide leadership to the production staff by fostering a team environment and ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet productions levels.
  • Develops and implements plans to attain company and department goals for safety, sanitation, quality, schedule attainment, employee relations, equipment utilizations, costs and training initiatives.
  • Responsible for production and sanitation shift supervisors in addition to administrative staff.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree – Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science or related field or relevant experience will be considered.
  • 3 - 5 plus years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in food processing or cheese converting
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality control
  • Microsoft Office and production management software
  • Understanding of employee safety and food safety standards
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Dairy or cheese industry experience –
  • Knowledge of ERP systems –
  • Certifications in HAACP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) –
  • Automated production packaging and modern manufacturing techniques -
