Job Summary:
The RNG Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the RNG production facility. This role ensures optimal performance, compliance with environmental regulations, and efficient management of resources to achieve production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage day-to-day operations of the RNG facility, including biogas production and processing.
· Ability to take guidance from senior management but independently make daily decisions is crucial in this position.
· Lead and supervise a team of plant personnel, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency in a 24x7x365 Operation.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental standards.
· Monitor and optimize production processes to meet or exceed performance targets.
· Manage operating expenses and adhere to the annual budget.
· Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, including compressors, electrical controls, and gas meters.
· Oversee data collection for renewable attribute registration with governmental or private verifiers.
· Collaborate with technicians, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
· Assist management in recruiting, hiring, and training plant operators.
· Manage operator performance, set performance goals, and assist in annual performance reviews.
· Handle administrative tasks, including reporting, budgeting, and vendor management.
· Maintain the facility's spare inventory and provide quarterly, written inventory counts.
· Operate advanced instrumentation and process control systems.
· Lead and coordinate all 3rd party vendors for scheduled maintenance and compliance issues.
· Effectively utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work activities.
· Diagnosing unit performance issues and performing corrective electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance tasks as well as other related corrective maintenance tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Qualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or related field ().· Extensive experience with compressors, electrical controls, PLC systems, and other gas processing equipment.· Skilled in P&ID or electrical drawing interpretation.· Demonstrated industry communication skills.· Previous RNG Operations experience.· Strong knowledge of safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and confined space entry.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.· Excellent communication and leadership skills.· Ability to work in challenging environments, including exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
