Job Description

The Plant Manager & Site Leader for our Ultrasound site in Reedsville, PA is responsible for directing a large manufacturing team tasked with overseeing a wide variety or complexity of processes and assembly lines and ensuring cost-effective, reliable, and predictable manufacturing process outcomes. You have the great opportunity to transform the factory to a modern Lean manufacturing site, dealing with senior stakeholders globally.

The Philips Reedsville site has three balanced production shifts co-located with the product development team for transducer development & manufacturing process design, serving customers across all Ultrasound Solutions and markets. The role guides the implementation of practices and procedures to foster a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. As Plant Manager you identify, address, and manage safety risks through comprehensive risk assessments and corrective action plans, while advocating for Operational Excellence and driving improvement initiatives. The role develops the organization's manufacturing cost plans, manages expenses within approved budgets, optimizes equipment and workforce utilization, and leads talent management initiatives in alignment with operational goals.

Key respnsibilities of the Plant Manager:
• Provides strategic leadership and direction to a large manufacturing team, overseeing and coordinating diverse processes, assembly lines, and departments within the production plant, while also acting as a liaison with other functions across the organization.
• Champions the establishment and enforcement of rigorous safety protocols and procedures to cultivate a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards, and fostering employee well-being.
• Authorizes comprehensive risk assessments and develops robust risk mitigation strategies to proactively address safety hazards and maintain a secure work environment, minimizing operational disruptions and ensuring employee safety.
• Drives a culture of Operational Excellence by spearheading the development and implementation of innovative improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining processes, enhancing productivity, and optimizing operational efficiency.
• Assumes ownership of developing and executing the manufacturing site's financial plans, including the Annual Operating Plan and multi-year manufacturing and investment plans, aligning them with organizational objectives and financial targets.
• Oversees the management of expenditures and financial activities within approved budgets, while also leading strategic planning efforts and business continuity planning to ensure the long-term success of the manufacturing site.
• Ensures adherence to stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements to uphold product integrity and customer satisfaction, continuously improving manufacturing processes to meet or exceed quality expectations.
• Facilitates optimal resource utilization, including equipment and workforce, to effectively meet fluctuating demand patterns while maintaining operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Drives the adoption of advanced Operational Excellence tools and Lean Methodology to systematically identify and address complex operational challenges, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Leads comprehensive talent management initiatives, including succession planning, employee selection, performance management, compensation planning, and career development, aligning talent strategies with organizational goals and operational needs.

You're the right fit if:

  • 10+ years of experience in areas such as Industrial, Manufacturing, Production Engineering or equivalent, in a highly regulated environment (Medical Devices, Automotive, Aerospace).
  • Medical device manufacturing background preferred with strong understanding of major regulation requirements, like FDA, CE…
  • 2+ years of experience in annual operating and planning for site operations or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership of and inspiration for direct reports as well as the broader organization.
  • Experience in leading teams and building a network of support from functional areas for successful and timely execution of customer needs.
  • Expertise and practical hands-on experience with Lean tools is a must. You understand what it takes to create a lean culture to increase productivity through elimination of waste.
  • Lean Leadership Training/Certification or equivalent.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills on all levels of a corporate organization.
  • Capable to drive deep culture change, track record of transformation and change management in the manufacturing environment.
  • A strong vision on how new technologies, industry 4.0 and digitalization can help in building the factory of the future.
  • Combination of the ability to think strategically with managing detail.
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electro-mechanical, Industrial Engineering and Business or equivalent.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Reedsville, PA is $188,000 to $288,000.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.
