Job Summary
We’re seeking a motivated, solutions-focused Plant Manager to lead daily operations at our South Bend, IN facility. This position is high-priority and pivotal to our continued growth. You will provide strategic leadership, drive team development, improve productivity, and ensure a safe and efficient plant environment that exceeds customer expectations.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of plant operations, warehouse activities, and production using the RMAS Warehouse Management System and other production planning tools.

  • Champion employee safety, ensuring adherence to OSHA standards and internal protocols.

  • Monitor inventory accuracy and initiate corrective actions as needed.

  • Hire, train, and develop high-performing warehouse and production teams while enhancing employee engagement and retention.

  • Implement maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and boost equipment reliability.

  • Evaluate new equipment investments to improve quality and performance.

  • Set clear goals related to safety, returns, delivery times, and customer satisfaction—and track progress using SAP reporting tools.

  • Oversee building security and facility maintenance.

  • Guide process improvement initiatives using Lean principles.

  • Collaborate with the Sales team to support customer needs, including occasional on-site visits.

  • Attend regional and corporate meetings and support contract negotiations when necessary.

  • Conduct performance reviews and enforce consistent, fair disciplinary procedures.

  • Manage plant budgets and ensure financial alignment with company goals.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field).

  • Minimum 2 years of direct warehouse supervision or team leadership experience.

  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA, Master’s degree, or Ph.D. is a plus.

  • Exposure to labor relations, ISO standards, and customer-facing roles.

  • Experience with safety programs, Lean practices, and process improvement.

  • Strong leadership presence and a proven ability to build cohesive, results-driven teams.
