Job description

Plant Manager - Food Manufacturing

Oversee day-to-day operations of the food facility, including production, quality control, and maintenance.

Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.

Develop and implement operational procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing levels and resources as needed.

Manage and develop a team of supervisors and production staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

Implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet USDA standards and customer specifications.

Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and finance to achieve organizational goals.

Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and employee attendance.

Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to create a safe working environment for all employees.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a managerial role within a USDA-regulated food processing facility.
  • In-depth knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP principles, and food safety standards.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP software systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours, if required.
