Position Summary

Directs and coordinates activities of the facility to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.

Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
  1. Profit and loss responsibility for the operations of the plant.
  2. Responsible for overall environmental, health, and safety performance of the operation.
  3. Manages activities of departments such as operations, manufacturing, engineering, planning, sales, and maintenance to affect operational efficiency.
  4. Guides operations towards continuous improvement of a safe working environment, lean quality (reduction of scrap, customer issues), on-time deliveries, and reduction of machine setup times.
  5. Drives employee participation in safety, environmental, and health compliance.
  6. Participates in current and long-range planning of plant objectives and policies.
  7. Analyzes budget requests to identify areas for cost reduction and allocates operating budget.
  8. Participates in the development of capital expenditure requests.
  9. Provides guidance and approval for major plans and procedures, in line with policies and top management.
  10. Collaborates with product development, sales, and marketing to assess competitiveness of new technologies.
  11. Reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine program or operational changes.
  12. Establishes and maintains effective communication systems throughout the plant.
  13. Coaches, counsels, disciplines employees, and monitors performance.
  14. Reviews operating results against objectives and implements corrective actions as needed.
  15. Prepares and manages the plant budget, analyzes variances, and initiates corrective measures.
  16. Enforces project, operational, and personnel policies, working with Human Resources.
  17. Recommends process improvements and efficiency measures.
  18. Implements Lean Manufacturing practices.
  19. Performs special assignments as required.
  20. Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications - Education/Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Fastener experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training.
  • International experience.
  • Experience using Google for Work.
