Plant Manager- Bushnell, IL

This is a salaried, exempt-level position.

Position Summary:

The Plant Manager is a highly visible position within ADM’s growing Nutrition Division. In this role, the manager oversees production capabilities for our nutrition plant located within our Bushnell processing complex. The Nutrition Plant has one processing line, producing soy Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP).

The Plant Manager is responsible for day-to-day activities, long-term vision, capital execution, talent development, and operations for the TVP lines. The role supervises 4 direct reports and oversees 35 non-union colleagues. Effective leadership, communication, self-motivation, and understanding of safety, food safety, quality, production, plant goals, cost management, and colleague development are essential.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Ensures safety of all operations colleagues by:
    • Adhering to procedures designed to keep process and people safe.
    • Ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health standards.
    • Implementing continuous improvements to facilities, equipment, and safety programs.
  2. Develops and executes a vision for the long-term improvement and sustainability of the complex.
  3. Collaborates with plant leaders to develop operational results and colleague development.
  4. Maintains adherence to GMPs, food safety plans, and product quality standards.
  5. Coordinates operations to comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  6. Sets corporate goals and establishes KPIs to drive performance.
  7. Provides regular feedback and conducts performance reviews.
  8. Manages capex budgets and prioritizes capital projects.
  9. Ensures inventory controls for accurate yield and reporting.
  10. Fosters a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost savings, and efficiency.
  11. Uses MOC tools to drive sustainable change.
  12. Communicates effectively with external stakeholders such as commercial, supply chain, and finance teams.
  13. Implements operational procedures, training, and enforces company policies.
  14. Drives skill development and leadership coaching among colleagues.
  15. Ensures reliability-centered maintenance practices, including CMMS use.
  16. Supports Performance Excellence systems for effective structure management.
  17. Creates a positive work environment to minimize turnover and participates in hiring processes.
Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing management experience, preferably in processing.
  • Ability to implement process improvements and adapt to change.
  • Proven leadership and motivational skills across all levels.
  • Exceptional communication skills for clear guidance and technical translation.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

ADM requires successful background check completion.

The pay range is expected to be between $92,800 and $170,300, with additional incentives such as annual bonus and long-term incentive plans.
