Job summary

Eaton’s Mobility Business seeks a Plant Manager for a VGNA facility based in South Bend, IN. You will lead Production, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, and HR to achieve short- and long-term goals under the Eaton Business System (EBS).

You’ll drive strategy, lead a leadership team, and manage P&L while interfacing with sales to meet customer needs. An undergraduate degree is required; a Master’s is preferred, with deep Lean/Six Sigma experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, OPEX or related functions in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of leadership experience developing high performing teams.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational leadership team and functional staff including Quality, Finance, Continuous Improvement, EHS, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Engineering and Maintenance.
• Drive KPIs with analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under tight deadlines.
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma tools (Kaizen, VSM, 5S+) to reduce costs and implement actionable plans.
• Champion a zero-incident safety culture and a strong environmental focus.
• Foster a Quality culture with early detection and escalation to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Partner with HR to drive talent development and communication strategies.

Eaton’s Mobility Business is hiring a Plant Manager for one of their Vehicle Group North America (VGNA) facilities. This position will be based in South Bend, IN.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the VP of Manufacturing, this leader has responsibility for plant management including Production, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Program Management, HR, Finance and EHS. The Plant Manager is responsible for driving strategic and operational leadership, and drive profit and loss, growth strategy and organizational direction to meet and exceed short and long-term business goals.

The Plant Manager will set overall policies and procedures to ensure effective manufacturing/trading operations consistent with Eaton Business System (EBS), values and philosophy. This person will also lead the plant leadership team to develop plant strategy and tactics to achieve annual profit plan and long-term strategic plan. The Plant Manager is also responsible for leading and implementing EBS, especially in applying the tools and processes to deliver exceptional business results. This person will interface with the sales organization to ensure internal/external customer needs are met.

Essential Functions

• Manage both operational leadership team and functional staff including Quality, Finance, Continuous Improvement, Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Engineering and Maintenance
• Act with analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to drive Key Performance Indicators within tight deadlines with changing priorities
• Emphasize utilization of Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing tools (Kaizen, VSM, 5S+) to lead cost improvement analysis and implement actionable, measurable plans
• Champion a workplace focused on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to drive a zero-incident safety culture
• Foster a Quality culture of early detection and escalations across the site to reduce cost, drive efficiency and ensure compliance
• Partner with Human Resources to drive talent management, learning, communication, and development strategies

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with progressive levels of accountability and responsibility in roles focused on Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, OPEX and/or related support functions in a manufacturing/production environment
• 5+ years of leadership experience developing high performing teams of people
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
