- 100% responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility, including Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Controls, Information Technology, Maintenance, Materials, Quality, Human Resources, and Health and Safety departments.
- Clearly and effectively communicate plant and company goals, expectations, and objectives to all staff and hourly team members.
- Lead management meetings, high-level corrective actions, operations reviews, and promote continual improvement as a business culture.
- Create, maintain, and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Foster a Safety-First environment to achieve safety goals and objectives for the facility.
- Execute all business plan objectives to ensure profitable operations (achieve monthly P & L objectives).
- Strategize, plan, and adjust the business plan using comprehensive risk and opportunity analyses, reviewing monthly with executive and plant leadership.
- Promote an environment conducive to continuous improvement activities beyond business plan objectives.
- Ensure high levels of Employee Satisfaction.
- Create and sustain an environment where all departments are accountable for meeting performance objectives aligned with plant, company, and business goals.
- Conduct internal reviews, providing coaching, training, and counseling as needed.
- Ensure successful launch of engineering changes, model changeovers, and new programs.
- Ensure facility readiness for sudden catastrophic failures as outlined in the Disaster Recovery Process (e.g., severe weather, fire, IT server failures, power failures).
- Comply with all company policies and procedures developed within the Business Operating System.
- Maintain building and premises security from unauthorized access.
- Document all activities as required.
- Adhere to and promote the company's Vision, Culture Operating Philosophy, and observe rules outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform any additional responsibilities deemed necessary by management.
Limits of Authority
- Advise Executive Management of situations that may pose significant risks to the program, product quality, facilities, employee safety, or customer satisfaction.
- Initiate actions to prevent nonconformance relating to products, processes, and systems.
- Identify and record problems related to products, processes, or systems.
- Recommend or initiate solutions through appropriate channels and verify their implementation.
- Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming products until deficiencies are corrected.
- Meet customer requirements regarding operational volumes, product quality, and delivery.
Basic Education, Experience, Core Competencies, and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or management discipline or equivalent work and education experience.
- Minimum 15 years of related experience in an Automotive Manufacturing/Materials environment.
- Effective communication skills with all levels within the business and executive leadership are essential.
- Extensive experience in Materials Management and Operations is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Ability to delegate effectively.
- Works well under pressure.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel).
