Job summary

HGS Bioscience, located in Jacksonville, FL, seeks an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations, improve safety and quality, and drive growth. This on-site role requires guiding production, maintenance, and regulatory compliance while delivering KPI targets and cost control.

You will lead 20–25-person teams, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and align site objectives with company strategy in a fast-growing, PE-backed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a similar field.
• 5+ years of plant management or operations leadership in manufacturing.
• Proven track record of people leadership managing 20–25 employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership of plant operations and site management, including production, quality, safety, and maintenance.
• Set, monitor, and achieve KPIs related to productivity, yield, safety, site organization and cleanliness, and cost management.
• Build a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
• Partner with leadership to align plant objectives with overall company strategy.
• Lead and develop plant teams, ensuring effective training, coaching, and performance management.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Implement best practices in lean manufacturing, process optimization, and quality management.
• Serve as a key contributor to the company’s growth and scalability initiatives.
• Flexibly adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, private equity environment.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in agronomy, fertilizers, crop inputs, or related industries.
• Familiarity with private equity-backed or high-growth companies.
• Experience leading both union and non-union workforces (if applicable).
• Lean/Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement certification.
