Job description

Our plant in Omaha, NE is looking for an experienced Plant Manager. The Plant Manager manages and directs the Production, Maintenance, and Production Administration functions of the plant. He/she ensures operations are conducted within GMP guidelines, producing products that meet or exceed customer and company quality expectations in a safe environment, while maintaining costs, efficiencies, and volume targets at or better than budgeted or standard levels. The Plant Manager leads the plant’s continuous improvement efforts, including food safety, cost control, and development of the Operations Management Team.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate manufacturing departments to ensure compliance with company objectives, quality systems, and customer satisfaction.
2. Establish quality specifications and ensure plant employees meet them.
3. Promote safety through employee education, safety committees, programs, and incentives.
4. Provide a safe working environment for all employees.
5. Achieve 100% service goal for sales.
6. Establish and improve productivity standards.
7. Prepare annual manufacturing budgets.
8. Analyze costs related to plant improvements.
9. Manage the financial results of plant operations.
10. Coach, motivate, and develop subordinates, helping them reach their goals.
11. Participate in preparing the plant’s strategic plan.
12. Act as a communication link between upper management and the plant.
13. Execute projects as directed by the Vice-President of Manufacturing.
14. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
15. Suggest process, procedure, and departmental improvements to support company goals.
16. Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
17. Verify GMP and safety standards are maintained; address deficiencies.
18. Ensure compliance with HACCP and AIB gold standards.
19. Protect the brand by ensuring regulatory and quality system compliance.
20. Review activities for conformance to product specifications.
21. Guarantee products are manufactured following GMP and Food Safety Practices.
22. Provide training and enforcement of Quality and Food Safety Programs.
23. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field, plus five years of progressive experience in manufacturing management roles, including:

• Leading manufacturing teams to improve efficiency and product quality;
• Operating within regulatory requirements (FDA, OSHA, EPA, USDA, EEO, etc.);
• Applying LEAN manufacturing strategies in a large-scale environment;
• Financial management, including budgeting and ROI analysis.
