Job summary

Avient Corporation is seeking a Plant Manager for the Minneapolis site to lead safety, environmental, quality, production and cost performance. You will develop operating plans, secure needed resources, and drive plant improvements in alignment with the business strategy.

The ideal candidate has a chemical engineering background, plastics formulation experience, and proven ability to manage direct reports in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Plastics formulation experience preferred.
• Experience managing direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Directs safety, environmental, quality, production and cost at the plant.
• Develops and implements plans to reduce waste and meet regulatory standards.
• Develops a plant operating plan aligned with the overall business plan.
• Determines resources required and secures them to execute the plan.
• Ensures product quality, equipment and operator performance standards.
• Develops capital plans to improve plant operations and controls costs.
• Represents Avient to the external community professionally.

Job description

The Plant Manager is responsible for effectively planning, directing andcoordinating all activities for the operations at assigned plant. These activities include safety, environmental, quality, production and cost.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction, ensures resources and manages programs to ensure the plant's safety and environmental performance meets established goals.
• Develops and implements plans to reduce waste, meet applicable regulatory standards and handles emergency situations that may arise at the Site.
• Develop a plant operating plan that is consistent with and supports the overall business plan.
• Determines what resources are required to successfully implement the operating plan and then secure them.
• Ensures standards for product quality, equipment and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.
• Develops capital plan to improve plant operations.
• Ensures plant performs at or below annual budgeted cost levels.
• Develops employees through training, involvement programs and other programs to create a strong team environment.
• Identifies develop opportunities and provides subordinates opportunities to meet career development plans.
• Represents Avient to the external community in a professional and positive manner.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelors - Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience

Technical background with specific experience in formulation in plastics industry preferred

Experience with managing direct reports
