Description du poste

We are partnering with an established manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a complex, high-mix manufacturing operation in Minden, Nevada.

The facility supports approximately 100 employees across metal fabrication, wood, finishing, paint and powder coating, and final assembly. Production includes a combination of standard products, made-to-order manufacturing, and custom builds, creating an environment where balancing capacity, labor, materials, quality, and customer commitments is essential.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone who has grown through manufacturing, enjoys being close to the operation, and knows how to develop people while driving measurable improvements in performance.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This is not a traditional high volume manufacturing environment where success is simply producing more of the same product faster. The operation requires balancing standard production with custom projects, changing priorities, and shared manufacturing resources.

The organization is looking for a leader who can bring structure to that complexity, strengthen quality and operational execution, and develop supervisors and functional leaders into a cohesive, accountable team.

You’ll have broad responsibility across Production, Procurement, Quality, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Warehouse operations, while partnering closely with Planning, Engineering, Finance, and other functions.

You’ll also have the opportunity to influence manufacturing systems, new product launches, and process improvements as the organization continues evolving its operational capabilities.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead daily manufacturing operations across a complex, high mix production environment, ensuring strong performance in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
  • Provide hands‑on leadership across manufacturing functions, spending meaningful time on the floor observing processes, coaching leaders, and resolving operational challenges.
  • Develop supervisors and functional leaders through coaching, delegation, accountability, and clear performance expectations, building a team capable of independently managing and improving their areas.
  • Strengthen quality systems through root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, process controls, and disciplined follow through to prevent recurring problems.
  • Partner with Planning and Materials teams to balance production schedules, capacity, labor, inventory, changeovers, and customer commitments.
  • Establish consistent operating rhythms and performance metrics that provide visibility into production constraints, quality issues, resource utilization, and improvement opportunities.
  • Balance immediate operational challenges with longer term priorities, ensuring daily issues do not continually derail strategic improvements.
  • Manage plant performance against financial expectations, including labor, overtime, scrap, rework, productivity, and controllable operating costs.
  • Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and evaluate capital investments and future capacity requirements.
  • Work closely with Engineering on new product launches, engineering changes, and manufacturing readiness, improving communication and execution between technical and operational teams.
  • Strengthen manufacturing processes, data accuracy, and shop‑floor execution as the organization continues developing its ERP, WMS, and MES capabilities.
  • Build a collaborative, people focused culture where employees are encouraged to identify problems early, take ownership, and contribute to continuous improvement.
What They’re Looking For
  • Proven manufacturing leadership experience with direct accountability for production, operational performance, and people development.
  • A strong technical foundation developed through manufacturing engineering, process engineering, production supervision, or other hands on manufacturing roles, with progressive responsibility leading people and operations.
  • Experience in high-mix, custom, made to order, build to order, or similarly complex manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success improving quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Strong experience developing supervisors, managers, and frontline leaders while establishing accountability and building organizational capability.
  • Hands‑on experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, preventive action, and structured problem solving.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, capacity management, material flow, labor utilization, and manufacturing execution.
  • Experience leading across multiple manufacturing functions, including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Materials, Procurement, or Warehouse operations.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing drawings, bills of material, routings, ERP/MRP systems, and manufacturing execution concepts.
  • Ability to connect operational performance with financial results and balance immediate production needs with long-term improvement initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with Engineering on new product introductions, engineering changes, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Strong communication and cross‑functional leadership skills, with the ability to bring teams together around shared objectives.

Experience with metal fabrication, wood, finishing, powder coating, assembly, electronics, or precision manufacturing is beneficial but not required. Experience managing broader end to end facility operations, including warehousing, is also valuable.

Specific ERP experience is not required, but candidates should understand how manufacturing systems support planning, material flow, inventory, and shop floor execution.

The Right Person

The strongest candidate will be someone who has grown up in manufacturing and understands operations from firsthand experience. You're comfortable walking onto the production floor, working alongside supervisors, understanding technical problems, and helping teams identify practical solutions.

At the same time, you recognize that effective leadership isn't about personally solving every problem. You believe in developing the people already within an organization through coaching, clear expectations, accountability, and opportunities to grow. Your goal is to build leaders who can independently manage their areas and sustain improvements.

You're comfortable operating in complexity. You understand that high mix manufacturing requires balancing competing priorities, changing requirements, and limited resources. You can respond quickly when necessary without allowing every challenge to become a crisis.

You lead with a quality first mindset, use data and structured problem solving to drive improvements, and understand the importance of addressing root causes rather than repeatedly working around the same issues.

Most importantly, you know how to bring people together. You build strong relationships across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and other functions, creating a culture where teams work toward shared goals rather than operating independently.

  • Facility Size: Approximately 100 employees
  • Scope: Broad manufacturing leadership across Production, Procurement, Quality, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Warehouse operations
