Job description

Aquinas Consulting is looking to fill a Plant Manager position for our direct client in Meriden, CT. The Plant Manager will oversee manufacturing, supply chain management, tooling, and maintenance operations. This role is responsible for improving operational efficiency, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining financial sustainability.

Plant Manager Job Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement business strategies to meet financial, customer, and operational targets.
2. Lead all operational activities, ensuring proper processes and trained resources are in place.
3. Drive financial sustainability for existing products and new development opportunities.
4. Champion and communicate the company’s vision and mission, empowering employees to exceed expectations.
5. Maintain a safe work environment and promote a strong safety culture.
6. Support company goals within a matrix organization and oversee P&L management.
7. Meet regularly with leadership teams to discuss business operations and performance.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing organization (MBA preferred).
2. Experience in a manufacturing plant, with preference for Aviation, Aerospace, Machining, or Industrial parts manufacturing.
3. Strong leadership and operational problem-solving skills.
4. Entrepreneurial mindset with a continuous improvement mentality.
5. Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, assess priorities, and respond quickly.
7. Experience with MRP/ERP systems and strategic decision-making in "buy versus make" scenarios.
8. Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 quality procedures and policies.
9. Ability to interpret blueprints and drive waste reduction.
10. Proven ability to interact with senior executives and mentor employees.
