Role Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe operations of a manufacturing facility. This includes order expediting to satisfy customer needs, working with supervisors to attain acceptable parts, supervising maintenance of facilities and staffing of all production areas.

Accountable for:
- To understand the needs of our customers and how a quality part is defined by our customer.
- Communicates the Plastic Ingenuity Mission Statement to all team members while helping them to understand the goals of our mission.
- Manage a multi-shift production operation in which safety is first and foremost.
- Ensures our process provides quality parts while empowering others to assist in that function.
- Works in cooperation with all facilities, other plant managers, and all internal departments in order to provide quality parts to our customer on a timely basis.
- Assists in selection and training of team members so that team members are in appropriate positions and developing for future needs.
- Reviews and monitors plant productivity while participating in team productivity/efficiency projects.
- Recommends changes for safer, more efficient and higher quality production.
- Maintains a company wide focus and executes big picture decision making.
- Understands materials and extrusion processes.
- Reviews and recommends adaptation or purchase of production machinery.
- Monitors maintenance and rebuilding of production equipment.
- Follows good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety.
- Serves as a member of the management team.
- Completes special projects and other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in mechanical engineering/industrial technology or a comparable program in management of manufacturing or equivalent demonstrated work experience.
- Have 3 years of experience working in a similar type of environment.
- Can troubleshoot technical issues as well as develop and implement strategies to address problems.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are essential.
- Commitment to improve processes and the ability to learn and teach new technologies and equipment.
- This person must also have or obtain a proficient understanding of project finance and accounting in a manufacturing setting.
