Job summary

Sika Lyndhurst, NJ facility seeks an experienced manufacturing leader to operate and grow the plant efficiently, safely, and in an environmentally responsible manner. The incumbent will drive programs to improve quality and productivity and represent the corporation in achieving its manufacturing Vision by fostering confidence and trust.

  • Attain annual safety goals by understanding and enforcing safety rules throughout manufacturing.
  • Meet annual quality and delivery goals by aligning with product quality demands of manufacturers.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving, error-proofing and mentoring skills.
  • Map processes and identify non-value-added activities to streamline production.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and quality to support capital planning and preventive maintenance.
  • Apply continuous improvement concepts including statistical process control and lean manufacturing.
  • Possess knowledge of mechanical engineering with understanding of chemical and/or electrical engineering.
  • Communicate effectively with all staff to educate on continuous improvement importance.
  • Attain annual expense budget goals and execute annual capital budgets for promised benefits.
  • Select, train and develop staff to perform at their best and ensure uninterrupted skill supply for operations.
  • Motivate personnel to achieve annual goals through solid management and coaching.

Job description

This position is tasked with the efficient, safe, and environmentally correct operation and growth of the Sika Lyndhurst, NJ facility. The incumbent is expected to develop and implement new programs to achieve higher quality and productivity and be the Corporation's representative to direct and achieve our Vision in the Manufacturing Plant by cultivating an environment of confidence and trust.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Attain annual safety goals through a solid understanding of safety management as well as the ability to convey and enforce safety rules and procedures throughout the manufacturing organization.
  • To attain annual quality and delivery goals, this position must be familiar with the product quality demands of manufacturers.
  • Problem-solving, error-proofing and mentoring skills are required.
  • The incumbent must have the ability to map processes and identify non-value-added activities to streamline production activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to team up with the engineering, maintenance, and quality functions including participating in capital planning, preventative maintenance, and problem solving.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of continuous improvement concepts including statistical process control and lean manufacturing is also required.
  • In addition, the incumbent must have a solid understanding of mechanical engineering with conceptual understanding of chemical and/or electrical engineering.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the organization including educating them on the importance of continuous improvement as a key element of manufacturing.
  • Attain annual expense budget goals and execute annual capital budget to achieve promised benefits.
  • Select, train and develop professional staff to perform at their own personal best.
  • Train and develop plant associates to ensure uninterrupted supply of necessary skills to operate equipment to meet customer order demand.
  • Motivate assigned professional and plant personnel to perform at required levels to attain annual goals through solid management and coaching skills.

Salary Range: $150,000-$165,000 based on education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.
