Job summary

ASB Resources seeks a hands-on Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our Louisville, KY manufacturing facility. This role is floor-focused, working with supervisors and teams to keep production on schedule, remove bottlenecks, and ensure safety and quality on the shop floor.

You will own the daily production schedule for multiple departments, monitor operations, address bottlenecks, coordinate with purchasing and maintenance, and drive improvements across the plant.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading operations in manufacturing or production.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling and plant workflow.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues and improve efficiency.
• Comfortable on the shop floor and managing multiple departments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience managing inventory and coordinating maintenance.
• Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily production schedule for the Door Department, Foam Rooms 2 & 3, and Sheet Metal Department.
• Make regular walk-throughs of the plant to monitor production, identify issues, and keep departments on track.
• Work with supervisors and production teams to address bottlenecks, staffing, equipment, and workflow problems.
• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Track and manage key inventory items, including steel, foam, and other raw materials.
• Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
• Schedule and follow up on maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Respond quickly to issues on the production floor and drive practical solutions.
• Support and enforce safe work practices throughout the facility.
• Lead by example with a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.

About the role

The client is looking for a hands-on Plant Manager to run the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. This is not a desk job. The right person will spend most of their time on the production floor, working directly with supervisors and employees to keep production on schedule, remove bottlenecks, and ensure the plant runs efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Sheet Metal Department

Preferred

• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, insulated products manufacturing, refrigeration products, or related industrial manufacturing environments.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
