Responsibilities

  • Oversee the manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Establish safe and healthy working environment that complies to all federal, provincial, and local regulations as well as in compliance to appropriate insurance safety and fire regulations.
  • Establish goals and directs activities of production managers and facilities manager.
  • Organize departmental structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
  • Develop and enhance processes and procedures within primary areas of responsibility through continuous improvement and other lean principles in support of Company strategy.
  • Prepare annual capital, equipment, and overhead budgets.
  • Prepare and submit capital equipment expenditure requests for review.
  • Identify the supplies, equipment, and personnel need to insure the uninterrupted operation of the Plant.
  • Assist the VP of Operations to plan for short- and long-term operating goals, expansion efforts, & implementation of change.
  • Set goals for work group, define measures of success, and develop organizational capacity as necessary to achieve goals.
  • Develop team members through effective hiring, coaching, performance management, and training.
  • Assist team members as needed and oversee resolution of operational issues that affect business objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, accounting, purchasing, and engineering functions in support of strategic goals.

Samson, the worldwide leader in high performance cordage, is seeking a Plant Manager for our Lafayette, LA facility who will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of production, facilities management, and safety in support of strategic financial, customer service, and quality objectives. The Plant Manager will also practice a high level of business ethics and professionalism while adhering to safety and quality guidelines in accordance with Samson strategy and core values.

Compensation:

The targeted hiring range for this position is $101,000 - $125,000 annually.

Hiring rate will depend on qualifications and experience.

Samson has established wage scales for all of our positions, which are based on a minimum and maximum. The targeted hiring rate above is set to allow for employee's growth within the role. full range for this position is $100,787 - $151,181 annually.
