Job summary

Arcosa Aggregates is seeking a Plant Manager for our Amite, LA facility. You will lead mining production activities, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and manage acquisition, installation, maintenance and storage of plant and equipment.

You will drive results through a strong safety culture and team leadership. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 7+ years in aggregates operations management, MSHA knowledge, and proven leadership across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 7 years in natural aggregates operations management.
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations and strong safety commitment.
  • Proven leadership with ability to manage multiple shifts and lead teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends and nights when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety and continuous improvement under ARC100 program.
  • Oversee quarry development, operations, maintenance, crushing, screening, and material handling.
  • Lead and manage production to meet quality at or below cost.
  • Coordinate daily activities of production staff and subcontractors.
  • Foster ownership of safety, production and quality among the workforce.

Job Summary

Arcosa Aggregates is seeking a Plant Manager for our Amite, LA facility. Plant managers control, direct, plan and coordinate mining production activities. They have statutory responsibility for safety and are also responsible for environmental impact. They oversee the acquisition, installation, maintenance and storage of mining plant and equipment. They lead and manage according to the organization’s code of conduct.

Day to Day
  • Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition in alignment with the ARC100 program.
  • Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
  • Manage all parts of an aggregate production facility to include quarry development, operations, maintenance, crushing, screening, material handling and mobile equipment, subcontractors, safety program, environmental and community relations in accordance with company policy and government agencies.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the group in natural Aggregates Operation in the production of quality material at or below production cost.
  • Follow established procedures for operating various conventional production tasks to produce quality aggregate material.
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of employees in the production of aggregate material in a mining environment.
  • Make decisions that are guided by policies, procedures and business plans.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Manage multiple shifts.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with at least 7 years in a Natural Aggregates Operations Management position.
  • Experience in managing an Aggregates Operation in the production of aggregate material, preferred.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safety.
  • Knowledge and understanding of aggregate equipment in a mining environment.
  • Excellent time management skills: ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; strong planning skills.
  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate with a proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production and quality.
  • Diverse experience with very strong financial, communication, management, organizational, and supervisory skills essential.
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekend and nights, where necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Positive, Team-based attitude.
Working Conditions
  • The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
  • The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy).
