Job summary

Maverick Power is expanding operations across the DFW area and seeks an experienced Plant Manager for the Garland facility. You will oversee daily production to meet deadlines, drive lean processes to maximize profitability, and develop a skilled workforce while ensuring safety and quality.

You will report to the Director of Operations and collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Quality to exceed customer expectations and reduce costs.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's or 10 years demonstrated success with equivalent work experience.
  • Manufacturing: 5 years in larger facilities (50K-100K SqFt).
  • Power Electronics (UPS, Switchboards, Panel Boards, Power Distribution Units)
  • Knowledge of current technologies in manufacturing, engineering, materials management/inventory control, distribution, and logistics, purchasing, quality assurance systems processes and practices.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the proven ability to drive change and leadership ownership/accountability.
  • Ability to build high performance teams, lead cross-functionally, develop & train employees.
  • Prior experience in Engineer to Order or Configure to Order production environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety meetings and ensure safe behavior.
  • Enforce safety equipment requirements in the plant.
  • Complete and document safety and quality inspections in a timely manner.
  • Audit payroll hours, overtime to budget, and attendance; daily time-entry accuracy.
  • Manage production employees, develop team members, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Ensure cross-training to enable flexing of employees across functions.
  • Maintain Best Practice Standards and housekeeping in the plant for appearance and equipment.
  • Own production schedule execution and KPI tracking for continuous improvement.

About The Role

Maverick Power is expanding operations across the DFW area and is seeking experienced Plant Manager to lead at our second Garland facility. The Plant Manager will oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily/weekly/monthly/annual production deadlines and revenue objectives. The Senior Production Manager provides leadership for the team members, drives the lean process to maximize profitable growth, provides premier customer service, develops a technically qualified workforce, and reduces operating cost, scrap, and inventories through continuous improvements. Additionally, they must assure the safety of Maverick Power employees. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities
People and Safety
  • Conducts/oversees weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety meetings, maintaining a consistent focus on safe behavior.
  • Always enforces the wearing of appropriate safety equipment in the plant.
  • Responsible for all safety and quality inspections completed and documented in a timely manner.
  • Accountable for the integrity of Production Operators payroll hours, overtime hours to budget and employee attendance (tardiness, absenteeism etc.). The time entry system should be audited daily for accuracy.
  • Responsible for all aspects of managing production employees to include developing team members, employment decisions, and performance assessments.
  • Holds periodic and annual performance evaluations of all involved employees per company policy.
  • Ensures cross training of all team members across all job functions to allow for flexing of employees to optimize the effectiveness of the entire business unit.
  • Ensures plant-wide Best Practice Standards and housekeeping requirements are maintained in the plant regarding appearance and equipment
Performance
  • Assists in establishing team goals, provides training, and tracks key performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Direct responsibility for executing the daily/weekly/monthly production schedule, reporting or material other inhibitors for meeting production requirements.
  • Assists in developing KPI’s and production records and owns maintenance of these records.
  • Works with the production schedulers to ensure production dates and materials are aligned to achieve output requirements.
  • Drive cost out; meeting or exceeding profit plan targets.
  • Interacts with the Project Managers to communicate production dates and on time shipping.
  • Create a culture of exceeding customer expectations, ensuring that the organization is highly responsive to customer needs and issues. Work with key stakeholders across Sales, Engineering and Quality to ensure achievement of end-to-end quality goals.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
