Job summary

Goodwill of Erie, Huron, Ottawa and Sandusky in Bellevue, OH seeks a Plant Manager to lead operations at the manufacturing facility, overseeing production, staffing, budgeting, quality assurance, safety, training, maintenance, logistics, and continuous process improvement.

You will drive operational excellence, manage budgets, monitor metrics, and build strong customer relations while fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5 years senior level experience in manufacturing or business operations.
• Excellent math, budgeting, and data interpretation skills.
• High school diploma or GED required; Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations to hit production, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
• Manage plant budgets, expenses, and overall performance against targets.
• Monitor production metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, ISO, CARF, and company policies).
• Collaborate with Business Services for contracts, cost estimates, and planning.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and service quality.
• Foster safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Workforce Development to support inclusive accommodations.
• Develop, coach, and mentor plant staff.
• Prepare and review operational reports to identify growth opportunities.

As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for leading overall operations and performance at the manufacturing facility in Sandusky, Fremont, or Bellevue. This role oversees all aspects of plant operations, including production, staffing, budgeting, quality assurance, safety, training, maintenance, logistics, warehouse operations, salvage, customer service, and continuous process improvement to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Essential functions

• Lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Manage plant budgets, expenses, and operational performance to meet financial and production goals.
• Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including OSHA, ISO, CARF, and company policies.
• Collaborate with Business Services to support contract development, cost estimates, and operational planning.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring exceptional service.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
• Partner with Workforce Development to support an inclusive workplace by providing appropriate accommodations and coaching for employees as needed.
• Lead, develop, and mentor plant employees through training, performance management, and professional development.
• Prepare and review operational reports to evaluate plant performance and identify opportunities for growth and process improvements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• High school diploma or GED required; Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics preferred.
• 5 years senior level experience in manufacturing or business operations.

What we are looking for

Excellent math skills; understanding of basic finance and budgeting; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to build a network with Goodwill customers and the public.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office; payroll and other Goodwill specific software.

Valid driver's license with good driving record and proof of current automobile insurance required every six months.
