The City of San Leandro is recruiting for the position of Plant Maintenance Worker in the City Manager's Office. Working at the Water Pollution Control Plant, this hands-on position plays an important role in keeping critical wastewater treatment operations running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical maintenance, industrial equipment, pumps, motors, piping systems, and maintenance tools. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance and repairs, responding to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs, operating forklifts and loaders, completing work orders and equipment readings, maintaining maintenance records, using power and hand tools, assisting with collection system maintenance, and maintaining plant buildings and grounds.
Any combination of experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be a high school diploma or certified equivalent (GED) and two (2) years of relevant semi-skilled maintenance experience.
