Job summary

Preferred Materials, Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a Plant Mechanic in Florida to support maintenance of our concrete production facilities. You will diagnose, repair and maintain equipment, install and align machinery, and work with safety protocols in a fast-paced plant environment.

Travel to other company facilities as needed; strong mechanical skills, basic electrical/hydraulic knowledge, welding, and flexibility with schedule are required; valid driver’s license and pre-employment checks

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge of machine diagnosis and repairs.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems and components.
• Basic knowledge of welding and light fabrication.
• Ability to read and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.
• Must possess a valid and current Driver's License.
• Commitment to safety is essential.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect machines, equipment and operator descriptions to locate malfunctions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and plant inspections.
• Install and assemble machinery per blueprints and drawings.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair batch panels as needed.
• Replace motors and pumps and realign components.
• Operate shop equipment (grinders, saws, drill presses, forklifts, cranes).
• Maintain clean, safe work area and comply with safety policies.
• Travel to other company facilities as needed.
