Job summary

• Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports for preventative maintenance.
• Assist with general plant operations such as cleaning and shoveling materials.

Hours

Approximate hours for this position will be 3pm–11pm Mon‑Fri.

What You’ll Do

• Promote safety: take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
• Repair and maintain plant equipment: perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service. Perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed.
• Inspect equipment and structures: perform daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.
• Monitor processes and materials: monitor and review the plant, specifically various aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance.
• Document and record information: enter and maintain service and lubrication reports regarding the plant equipment used to ensure preventative maintenance is up to date.
• Perform general physical activities: assist with the operation of the plant, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry preferred.
• Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production preferred.
• Ability to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands, in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
• Mechanical skills: some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Compensation

Hourly range: $27.00–$37.67. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

Shift differential: For Night or Second Shift employees in the Northeast Division, a shift differential of 20% on base pay applies when working certain hours during the designated time period.
