Job Details

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2p-10:30p/finish, occasional Sat/Sun as needed

Wage: $26-27 to start, depending on experience

Job Duties

We are seeking an experienced Journeymen Maintenance Mechanic interested in cross-training within a working plant environment. The ideal candidate must have mechanical aptitude (auto or related experience is acceptable), a motivated attitude, and the ability to learn and perform the following:

• Maintain various types of fluid packaging machinery in a food plant environment, including related auxiliary machinery.
• Handle chemicals for support equipment operation and perform chemical testing of boiler feed water, condenser, cooling tower water, food-grade glycol, and plant process water.
• Fabricate and manufacture equipment for production needs, including product and process piping, sanitary equipment, steam lines, chemical lines, and pneumatic lines.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
• Learn to weld if not already familiar, using provided tools. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED; proficient reading and writing in English; proven mechanical experience in related mechanical or auto fields.

Additional Information

Training will be provided to candidates with mechanical experience and aptitude.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands include standing, walking, talking, hearing, handling objects, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs, and specific vision abilities. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Exposed to warm and humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, chemicals, electricity, and loud noise levels.
