Job summary

Cemstone Concrete Materials LLC is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to operate CDL Class A, perform metal fabrication and welding, and support preventive maintenance across our Iowa plant facilities. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficiency in a manufacturing setting.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, a vocational credential, 3+ years in manufacturing, strong problem-solving and leadership skills, and proficiency in basic computer tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; vocational degree preferred.
• 3+ years manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, math and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL Class A and travel between company facilities.
• Perform metal fabrication, welding, grinding, and torch cutting for maintenance.
• Coordinate with Plant Maintenance Supervisor on daily tasks.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Inspect and repair production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment and pneumatics.
• Plan for upcoming projects and ensure parts availability.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized workspace and follow safety procedures.
• Operate aerial equipment, forklifts, loaders, and other site equipment.
• Assist other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to travel between company facilities and provide any maintenance operations as needed.
• Carry out any metal fabrication, welding, grinding, and torch cutting on plant equipment and structures to support preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate with Plant Maintenance Supervisor and/or Manager on daily tasks, projects, or any issues that may arise.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in the plant.
• This may consist of inspecting, greasing, cleaning or repairing production equipment to ensure uninterrupted production capability.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment that is down or in need of repair: material transferring equipment, pneumatics, fabrication, etc.
• Strategize and prepare for upcoming projects to ensure that all parts are readily available prior to a plant shutdown to reduce downtime.
• Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers.
• Promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company.
• Efficiently and safely operates the use of any aerial equipment (manlift, scissor lift, etc.), skid loaders, forklifts, front end loaders, or any other piece of equipment.
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe, organized workspace.
• Fulfill maintenance tasks using appropriate safety equipment and safety procedures (i.e.: lockout tag out, guarding, confined space, use of respirators and fall protection).
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Technical knowledge and skills equivalent to a vocational technical degree.
• Vocational degree/certificate and 3+ years’ experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, math, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak in English.
• Experience and ability to work with machine operators, equipment operators, and plant production workers.
• Experience with building and property maintenance and understanding of manufacturing equipment and process essential.
• Mechanically inclined with excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong abilities in planning, organizing, problem solving and multitasking.
• Welding, electrical and mechanical experience in an industrial environment.
• Ability to work well with others in a teamwork environment.
• Must be able to follow instructions and adhere to all the company’s safety policy procedures and recommendation.
• Must be able to become familiar with OSHA, EPA, NEC, and other national and regional codes.
• Experience with manufacturing/production computerized batching/PLC systems.
• Must be proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
