Job summary

American Seating Company in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead the maintenance and facilities function, overseeing supervisors, technicians, and contractors to provide dependable processes, equipment, and facilities for the plant.

You will own the department's strategy, budget, and performance, drive TPM and continuous improvement, and ensure safety compliance, costs control, and readiness for new equipment and product launches.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred.
• More than eight years of manufacturing maintenance experience with at least three years in a supervisory role.
• Journeyman certification in an industrial maintenance trade required.
• Experience managing departmental budgets and capital projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads and develops the maintenance team, including hiring, training, and performance coaching.
• Develops a maintenance strategy to improve reliability and up-time.
• Tracks KPIs like OEE, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, and preventive maintenance compliance.
• Ensures 100% on-time completion of preventive maintenance and CMMS oversight.
• Prepares and manages the annual maintenance and facilities budget.
• Plans and manages capital projects for equipment, building, and infrastructure.
• Leads TPM implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensures safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance and promotes a safety culture.
