Job summary

Nutrien in Parma, ID is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep our on-site production equipment running smoothly. You will maintain pumps, compressors, motors, valves and piping, and support PLC-controlled systems across the plant.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree or equivalent experience, with strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on maintenance experience, including welding and forklift operation. Safety and reliability drive our daily work.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance is a plus.
2+ years of experience in operating processing plant environments or equivalent training.
2+ years of forklift experience preferred.
2+ years of experience or training in repairs on typical chemical processing equipment.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain production machines and plant equipment.
Repair and troubleshoot pumping systems, compressors, generators, reactors, heat exchangers, valves and related components.
Perform preventive maintenance on valves, motors, pumps, gear boxes and plant equipment.
Electrical installation and repair of switches, outlets, lighting, VFDs and motor starters.
Inspect parts for defects and replace or repair as needed.
Weld piping systems using MIG, ARC and TIG techniques.
Assist with PLC-controlled automated systems installation and troubleshooting.
Provide emergency and scheduled maintenance repairs.
Perform basic machinist duties and various mechanical tasks.
Diagnose problems and test adjustments.
Perform plumbing and carpentry tasks and general grounds maintenance.
