Athens Services is seeking a Cleaner to maintain cleanliness of our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and plant equipment. You will meticulously clean conveyors, decks, exhaust systems, and tunnels to ensure optimal operation and safety.

The role requires standing for long periods and physical activity, with a Monday–Friday 2:30PM–11:00PM schedule and rotating Saturdays. Competitive benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• At least 6 months experience in heavy labor or similar physically demanding roles.
• Able to stand, bend, lift and carry up to 25 lbs safely.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and safety awareness.
• Willingness to work 3rd shift and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Clean MRF equipment (conveyor, beds, head & tail pulley) to remove debris.
• Clean shaker decks (upper/lower) to ensure proper function.
• Replace or clean air and carbon filters in exhaust systems as needed.
• Clean conveyor tunnels and walking floor tunnels from debris.
• Sweep under conveyors and clean buildings to remove dust and debris.
• Support maintenance with cleanliness and preparation of work areas.

From conveyor belts and shaker decks to exhaust fans and conveyor tunnels, your attention to detail will be key.

The Cleaner reports to the Maintenance Manager. The Cleaner is responsible for providing proper cleaning, detailing and overall all cleanliness of Material Recovery Facility (MRF) & Plant Equipment.

Job Description

• Clean MRF Equipment (conveyor, beds, head & tail pulley) from debris to ensure proper function of MRF equipment.


• Clean MRF Equipment (shaker upper & lower decks) from debris to ensure proper function of MRF equipment.


• Clean MRF Equipment (Exhaust fan Replacement of air & carbon filters as needed) to maintain in proper operation of units.


• Clean MRF Equipment (conveyor tunnels) from debris to ensure proper function of MRF equipment.


• Clean MRF Equipment (Walking floor tunnels) from debris to ensure proper function of MRF equipment.


• Clean sweeps underneath conveyors as needed.


• Clean MRF buildings from dust, debris, etc.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.


• Minimum of 6 months experience in a heavy labor role


• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job -- prolonged standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.


• Must have good hand-eye coordination


• Exhibit the ability to learn and to assist others in the company's goals


• Safety conscious


• Ability to stand for a long period of time and work 3rd shift

• Physical: Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, & smelling continuously.
