  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and Internet/e-mail

Responsibilities

  • Implements, manages and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements.
  • Performing job hazard analysis and ergonomic risk assessments and creating action plans to reduce risks
  • Performing incident investigations using an 8D (Disciplined) process, with focus on root cause and corrective actions
  • Participates in investigation teams following incidents and helps to minimize recurrence
  • Lead the safety committee, empowering members to instill a behavior-based safety culture
  • Assists EH&S Manager in administering tracking system (EHSIS) to document worker injuries
  • Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events
  • Provides or facilitates effective training for all safety programs (fall protection, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, etc.)
  • Assist with emergency response situations and act as Company First Responder if needed
  • Tours plant to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Conducts inspections and implements safeguards

Job description

We are seeking a Plant Lead EH&S Specialist, 2nd Shift to join our Federal team at our York, PA Grantley plant location. This position is responsibleto reduce work related injuries by continuously improving the safety management system and leading cultural change by demonstrating exceptional leadership and engaging employees on all levels at the Grantley Plant. Under general direction, enables front line supervisors to completetheir safety activities and prevent incidents, and acts as an informational source on safety and health issues to all employees.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $120,000
Premium Shift Differential: 10% of base salary
Bonus Eligible: Yes

Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total).

As a Plant Lead EH&S Specialist, 2nd Shift, you will:

  • Implements, manages and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements.
  • Performing job hazard analysis and ergonomic risk assessments and creating action plans to reduce risks
  • Performing incident investigations using an 8D (Disciplined) process, with the focus on root cause, corrective and preventive actions and verification.
  • Participates in investigation teams following incidents and helps to minimize recurrence, monitors implementation of corrective actions through implementation and completion.
  • Lead the safety committee, empowering the committee members to instill a behavior-based safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Assists EH&S Manager in administering tracking system (EHSIS) to document worker injuries
  • Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events
  • Provides or facilitates effective training for all safety programs including but not limited to fall protection, lockout / tagout, machine guarding, powered industrial vehicle, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, electrical safety, confined space, respiratory protection and walking and working surfaces.
  • Assist with emergency response situations that occur within the facility as needed.
  • Ability to be trained and act as a Company First Responder for cases of injury and other incidents.
  • Tours plant to identify and correct potential hazards; and to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Conducts inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering or related field (e.g. Occupational Safety, Applied Safety, Safety Administration, Safety Management).
  • 3 – 5 related safety experience in manufacturing
  • Ideal candidate must have the ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions as well as gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Must be able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • RCRA, HAZWOPER, and DOT certifications
  • Hoisting, Rigging, and Lift Planning Experience
