Job summary

Reliance, Inc. in Cedar Hill, Texas, seeks a Leadman to work with Shift Supervisors and warehouse staff to maximize production safely while ensuring quality from inbound materials to outbound shipments.

You will supervise the shift when supervisors are absent, coordinate production and traffic schedules, drive yard trucks as needed, enforce safety and paperwork, and mentor teammates. Strong communication and problem solving are required.

Responsibilities

• Work with Shift Supervisors and warehouse staff to maximize production safely and maintain quality from inbound materials to outbound shipments.
• Supervise the shift in the absence of the Shift Supervisor; coordinate production schedules and traffic with the department.
• Drive yard truck and organize trailers for loading orders for shipment to customers; enforce safety and proper paperwork flow.
• Coordinate and communicate with Truck Drivers; maintain inter-shift communications; supervise warehouse tasks as backlog necessitates.
• Support implementation and enforcement of company policies with management; collaborate with other shifts on major decisions; identify production/safety/quality improvements.

Job Summary

In this position, the Leadman will work in conjunction with the Shift Supervisor(s) and staff to maximize production safely while also maximizing quality from the inbound of materials to the outbound (to our customers).

Job Function

• Work in conjunction with the Shift Supervisor with warehouse personnel (including assisting with coaching, performance reviews, training/re‑training, rewarding/disciplinary actions, handle conflict management/resolution, vacations and/or overtime scheduling).
• Assist the Shift Supervisor in coordinating production (including time scheduling, supporting processing schedules, support scheduling with traffic department – CPU’s, receiving, controlling overtime)
• In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, supervise the shift to meet production goals.
• Performance of any/all Warehouse Department tasks as required by the absence of a department member or due to the existence of a backlog of work.
• Coordinate and communicate with Truck Drivers as necessary.
• Maintain complete inter-shift communications
• Review/enforce proper paperwork and procedures regarding production and personnel.
• HR/Safety manager will work closely with and assist shift manager and shift supervisors regarding all legal, safety and personnel issues.
• Maintain a high level of safety during shift.
• Coordinate work order and other paperwork flow as required.
• Drive yard truck moving and organizing trailers into warehouse for loading order for shipment to customers.
• Assist with implementation and enforcement of all company policies/procedures with General Managers, HR Manager and Shift Managers.
• Work closely with other shifts/applicable managers on all major decisions.
• Identify weaknesses in any areas and ways to improve production/safety/quality/personnel processes.
• The shift supervisor and shift management team will be in charge and responsible for all warehouse/production issues and decisions.
• Promote and practice all company policies and procedures with an emphasis on safety.
