Grande Cheese Company in Chilton, WI is seeking Plant Lab Technicians to perform tests on dairy and environmental samples, delivering accurate results with approved methods and timely communication to internal customers.

You will participate in SQF and internal audits, calibration, RCA/CAPA investigations, inventory management, SOP reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement within our HPWT framework.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Associate Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or related discipline preferred.
• 1+ year of lab experience or related education preferred.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on dairy and environmental samples.
• Ensure accurate results using approved analysis methods.
• Communicate results to internal customers in a timely manner.
• Participate in SQF and internal quality programs; data analysis and calibration.
• Maintain lab inventory; document reviews and RCA/CAPA investigations.

Job description

Weekend Day Shift: Friday - Sunday | 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Hours & Shift

Training will temporarily be conducted Tuesday-Friday, 5:00 AM-3:30 PM before transitioning to the regular work schedule.

Enjoy a schedule designed to maximize your work-life balance. Work just three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours) and receive pay equivalent to 40 hours, giving you four days off every week while maintaining full-time earnings.

Pay Range & Growth Opportunity

• Pay Starting at $23.80/hour
• Weekend Shift Premium: $2.25 an hour (Saturdays and Sundays)

Job Summary

Plant Lab Technicians perform laboratory tests on various products including dairy and environmental samples. Responsible for providing accurate test results using predetermined, approved methods of analysis and ensuring that results are communicated to our internal customers in a timely and efficient manner. Participate in various internal and external Quality programs, such as SQF and internal auditing, with activities such as data analysis, environmental monitoring, calibration, lab inventory, SOP development, RCA/CAPA investigations, and documentation reviews. What you need to be considered for the role:

• High School or GED required.
• Associate Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or other related discipline preferred.
• One (1) or more years of prior lab experience and ability to demonstrate knowledge of proper laboratory techniques, whether by job experience or prior education, is strongly preferred.
• Good analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel) preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities within a start-up environment.
• Self-Organization Skills.
• Ability to read and use equipment manuals.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

This role requires the ability to regularly lift and move objects weighing between 20–50 lbs, as well as frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and exposure to vibration. The work environment may involve exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold), high humidity, and loud machinery. High School Diploma or better in General Education Associates Degree or better in Chemistry
