Job summary

Burt's Bees in Morrisville, NC seeks a Plant Human Resource Generalist to run daily HR functions including staffing, pay, benefits, and leave, while enforcing company policies. The role may supervise scheduling and daily workflow of HR staff.

You will deliver training, manage employee relations, and ensure compliance with employment laws across the plant. A manufacturing background and 3+ years of HR experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive HR, employee relations, talent management, or project management experience.
  • Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment, interviewing, selection, onboarding, new hire orientation, employee recognition, and talent development programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing HR projects from planning through implementation, including timelines, cross-functional coordination, risk tracking, and status updates.
  • Experience administering HR programs and maintaining confidential records for compensation, benefits, payroll, leave management, performance, training, and compliance.
  • Experience handling employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, conflicts, and terminations with good judgment and discretion.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, Microsoft Office, and project management tools; ability to maintain confidentiality and stay current on HR practices.

The Plant Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role may oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.

In this role, you will:
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and work assessments.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What we look for:
  • 3+ years of progressive HR, employee relations, talent management, or project management experience.
  • Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment, interviewing, selection, onboarding, new hire orientation, employee recognition, and talent development programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing HR projects and initiatives from planning through implementation, including developing timelines, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, tracking deliverables, managing risks, and communicating project status and outcomes.
  • Experience administering HR programs and maintaining accurate, confidential records related to compensation, benefits, payroll, leave of absence management, performance management, training, employee development, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, performance concerns, and terminations, with strong judgment and discretion.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with employees, managers, and leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, Microsoft Office, and project management tools, with the ability to maintain confidentiality, stay current on HR best practices and emerging technologies, and work independently while supporting additional HR initiatives as assigned.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

  • Zone A: $74,200 - $135,800
  • Zone B: $68,000 - $124,500
  • Zone C: $61,800 - $113,100

All ranges are subject to change in the future. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process. This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
